Amethyst deceiver is a small brightly colored mushroom.<br>
<br>
Because its bright amethyst coloration fades with age and weathering, it becomes difficult to identify, hence the common name “deceiver”.<br>
<br>
This tiny one (around 2 centimeters tall) is far from deceiving the viewer.<br>
