I don't mind using proprietary software as long as it's fully compatible with open-source software:
- produced data are in (file) format, that can be used without issues with FOSS,
- no proprietary API is used for integrations.
I.e. I don't mind (to buy) proprietary software, that is an interchangeable tool, into which I am not locked-in, and I can seamlessly switch it with a different one if I wanted/needed.
@itsfoss which is not what #Microsoft is doing.
MS tries to lock people into their own proprietary formats.
People can't switch away from it easily - ramped up switching costs.
Pure monopolistic practices.
